This year we launched the updated Joystick with sliding skin and have had a lot of great feedback from you guys. We’ve heard that you love the feel and naturalness of the sliding skin and the look and feel of the new head.

Some of you have also asked that we NOT discontinue the non sliding skin Joystick. We appreciate that with such a personal and intimate product that feels like it’s become a part of you, it can feel weird to switch to something different. And some of you just aren’t into the sliding skin feature, so this version of the Joystick is now known as the Joystick classical and will continue to be available here indefinitely.

In any case, I thought I’d take the time to do a bit of a comparison between the classic and the new sliding skin version of the Joystick as there are a few notable differences.

Look and feel

The sliding skin Joystick now has a different shaped head with improved realism to fine detail. It also feels very soft as it’s a different durometer to the firmer inner core. This inner core is a little more firm on the new sliding skin version than it is on the classic. On the classic, the 6 inch is a little firmer than the 7 inch. Then, of course, the sliding skin adds a much improved level of realism to the feel. Both versions are airbrushed to give an ultra realistic final visual finish.

Size

The sliding skin Joystick is only available in one size which is approximately 6.5 inch but in overall look and feel, is closer to the 6 inch than the 7 inch and has a similar girth to the 6 inch. The classic Joystick will continue to be available as both 6 and 7 inch options.

Durability

This is a point we want to be totally upfront and transparent about. The nature of having a product with a thin sliding skin layer does mean that durability isn’t as good as it is for the classic Joystick which is a single silicone piece. Both have a three month warranty, but do be aware that the sliding skin version is ultimately likely to have a shorter life span. As it’s a new product, it’s difficult to say at this point what that life span is, but with regular use, it may need to be replaced every other year or so. The Joystick classic may fade in terms of the subtle airbrush detail, but beyond that, should functionally last a very long time.

Ejaculation/Lubrication reservoir

We’ve been able to increase the size of the reservoir on the new sliding skin Joystick, so this does have slightly more volume than the classic.

Ultimately, the Joystick aims to create as natural an experience as possible, and both these models do this with just some slight variations. The sliding skin takes this realism to another level, but if you’ve quite literally grown too attached to the classic or sliding skin just isn’t your thing, then, the classic isn’t going anywhere.
